Every desktop artwork here is painted and framed at 16:10 — the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro aspect ratio — and delivered at 3840px wide. That matters more than it sounds: most wallpaper sites serve 16:9 files, which a Mac either letterboxes or crops, usually straight through the part of the picture you liked.
Composition is set with the menu bar in mind, so the focal subject sits clear of the top strip and of the notch on the 14- and 16-inch machines. On a 5K iMac the files still render cleanly because the paint texture carries detail at every scale rather than depending on fine linework.

A Retina panel is unforgiving with flat gradients — banding shows, and stock photography reveals compression. Thick oil texture does the opposite: the surface has natural variation everywhere, so it stays rich at 100% and never looks like a stretched JPEG behind your windows.
